David Lawrence from Grand Cyprus GC in Florida stormed to victory in his first ever event on this side of the Atlantic.

David posted a 6 under par 66 at Collingtree Park GC to win by 3 strokes from Jamie Dick in his debut Eagle Pro Tour event. Lawrence had a solid front nine with 3 birdies and 1 bogey and then turned on the class with 4 more birdies on the inward nine.

David was playing in the event to prepare for next weeks European Tour Q school event, as were many other players in the 43 strong field and was delighted to pick up the £1200 winners cheque.

Jamie Dick (Sherdons Golf Centre) had a fantastic back nine of 32, including birdies at his final 2 holes, to take sole possession of 2nd place and £800.

In tied third place were Eagle Tour regulars Alastair Kinnaird, RTom Cumberland and Duncan Elbury alongside George Woolgar with 2 under par 70’s. Woolgar had a chance to force a play off after 5 bidies in his first 16 holes,  with a birdie in his final 2 holes but tripped up at the 17th making a triple bogey 7.

The Eagle Tour would like to thank Collingtree Park and their fantastic staff for their hospitality yesterday and we wish them all the best with the Q school next week.
